Sphinx and Early Linking Ring Issues for Sale
Due to the need for more room, I am selling ~300 issues of The Sphinx. They range from Volume 19 #2 (April 1920) to Volume 43 #3 (May 1944), but do not include every issue in-between. Condition varies widely some issues are in fantastic shape others are falling apart. Most early issues and some late...

Re: Satan Is My Buddy
Bob -- yes, the U.S. jokers have the initials U.S. in the corners rather than the pentagram. While I could certainly do the trick with U.S. jokers, I like the touch of the pentagram.

When I turn anything over side for side it stays the same. When I turn anything over end for end it changes. I too do not see an anomaly.

Re: Magicians on stamps
Who else might fit the criteria of great American magicians deserving to be put on a stamp? My choices would be: Al Baker Dai Vernon (born in Canada, but lived most of his life in the U.S.) Alexander Herrmann (born in Europe, but lived most of his life in the U.S.) Adelaide Herrmann (It would be gre...

Re: Magicians on stamps
:) I'd love to see such a set of stamps. We got the Houdini one a couple of years ago, so we might not get another of him. Also it took a lot of hard work to get the post office to agree to that stamp. Anyone know the official submission process?

Re: help with kid magic
For a very different take on performing magic for children you might want to look at Bringing the Wonder of Magic to Children by Brother Shadow (AKA Carl Herron). It was originally published in the December 2003 issue of Linking Ring and is also available from Brother Shadow (broshad@aol.com).

Re: Mark Kalin & Jinger
The thing that I like most about Kalin and Jinger is that they are true partners on stage. Jinger is so much more than just an assistant. In fact on Grand Illusions: The Story of Magic (part 2) DVD, Kalin tells a story about knowing that they were succeeding in what they were attempting to achieve w...

I received my copy yesterday (10/2) here in sunny Santa Clara. Looks like a great issue. The glossy "Genii Wrap" is better than the matte.

Allan Slaight Article, U.S. or Candian Dollars
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article on Allan Slaight. He's had a fascinating life. I was curious whether the dollar amounts indicated were U.S. or Canadian dollars? In any case he's been very successful both as a magician and businessman.

I recently had the pleasure of buying one of Mark Burger's 2-in-1 wands. Not only is the wand beautiful but I was treated to some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. I highly recommend House of Magic in San Francisco and Mr. Burger. :)

What are your thoughts on this particular version of the time prediction effect? I am interested in it as a pocket watch would fit an idea that I have for a presentation much better than a wrist watch.

Re: What is the principle behind "Really!"?
I've performed "Really" for several people and have gotten a very positive response every time. And it's not very difficult to remember the steps, and anyways if you forget one or do them out of order it doesn'e matter (except, of course, the deal turning over every other card). One friend...
