iNSTANT RADIO
I have recently purchased Shahid Malik's 'Instant Radio' from his new online 'Magigadgets'. This item is a wonderfully novel unit which provides the performer with the power to produce, whilst bare-handed, radio sounds from any object by pressing, touching, squeezing the object, or by opening a match...

Re: help with trick
A lovely booklet on the 'clock effect' was written by Roy Johnson and published by Jeff Busby (1984) called: 'A World of Clocks'. Just a handful of effects but each one beautifully conceived in typical Johnson fashion. It may be out of print now but worth checking around for it. For a completely dif...

Re: Any news of Ray Grismer
Just to set the record straight regarding Richard
Kaufman's comment above. Ray Grismer wasnn't with
Jerry Andrus when he died. I mentioned Jerry's
death to Ray and he didn't know about it and was
very saddened of course to hear of it.

Re: Roundup of Anticipated Books
My book: 'Legend: An anecdotal tribute to Ken Brooke' is ready for printing. A special pre-release copy will be available to contributors to the book shortly. The cover (by Ken's good friend, Ken Perks) is holding things up a little as it needs 'tweaking' here and there, however, Ken as usual has do...

Any news of Ray Grismer
I have been trying to contact my friend, Ray Grismer for some months now without any luck. I
know he has had some major surgery, due, I believe, to his diabetes. I have tried phoning, writing etc., but no joy. Can anyone help please?
Many thanks.

Re: Patter for Sam the Bellhop
Check out Wayne Dobson's routine: 'An Englishman in New York', in his 'Dobson's Choice' booklet (No.1). It is based on the 'Sam the Bellhop' routine but, there's are no false shuffles or cuts etc. It's just five minutes or so of great entertainment, that gets BIG laughs! I Highly recommend this rout...

Re: WTB - Lucky Cards - Roy Johnson
'Lucky Cards' can be found in Roy's lecture notes: 'Be My Guest', which is now out of print I believe. The basic effect is a little like the original 'Fred' trick (or 'Phil' trick by Trevor Duffy which is sold today). Roy's however, is a version I personally prefer: it's very commercial, especially ...

Re: Ken Brooke Whats It Box
The 'Whats' It Box' is Nick Lewin's, who was a pupil of Ken Brooke. Ken released this as a childrens effect. He didn't go into great detail). He said it would take pages to describe exactly what happens. Briefly, it all revolveD round a box and three 18" silks which eventually vanish, as you pr...

Re: Jerry Sadowitz Interview
Jerry Sadowitz is an enigma. He looks as though he's just stepped out of the pages of a Dickens novel. Magic needs people like Jerry; he should be a massive star, just as Ken brooke should have been a massive star. Will it happen? Hmmm... There is only one other person in the world of magic with Jer...
