The Legendary Slydini Project Can Now Be Ordered

This has been whispered about since I was a teenager: French Film producer Christian Fechner had a professional film crew shoot Slydini performing and explaining his most iconic routines. It has taken half a century for the project to come to fruition. You can order it now. Five hours of footage! ht...

Re: Chicago Opener

"Chicago Opener" (aka "Red Hot Mama") makes absolutely no sense, however it is a great trick to perform for lay audiences. Gets a huge reaction. No question about that. Chris Kenner also doesn't like using the Double Lift, and he could certainly do it as well as anyone on the pla...

I think that if she did it live TWICE, that only confirms that the spectator's verbalizing of the number was fiddled.

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

I agree with Mark in the sense that the male spectator's freely-chosen number was not the number heard by the audience. Whether it was a gimmicked microphone or ventriloquism is beside the point. We know exactly how the trick worked because IT IS THE ONLY WAY the trick could have been done. In tryin...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

Dr. Solka wrote:ACAAN where it belongs ... as a fellow-fool at the magic circle table. It is a BORING card trick - more a puzzle - for spectators without any entertaining presentation. (Although that would be possible with a different context.)

This was not true when David Berglas performed the trick.

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

Occam's Razor: the simplest explanation which accounts for the most is the right one. The woman named a random card. The deck was in a memorized stack. The number the audience heard the man say was manually input into the mic. Because the deck was not touched, there is no other possible method. I th...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

Jack, I'm betting that's pure bullsh*t. There are only so many ways this trick, under these circumstances, can be done. One that hasn't been mentioned is hypnosis. Another is that she might have implanted both the number and card into the spectator's minds without their realizing it. Is someone a st...

One: I didn't get two minutes into her patter before she lied: She said no magician has ever done ACAAN without touching the cards. There are multiple instances of David Berglas doing the trick without touching the cards. That includes several times for me. Two: when she chose the two volunteers she...
