The March Issue of Genii is All About Guy Hollingworth

http://i.imgur.com/aYxiAaF.jpg Join us at http://www.geniimagazine.com I remember meeting Guy Hollingworth many decades ago and thinking, “Yikes, he’s really good.” Now I would say he is one of the best cardmen in the world. And if you were to take a measure of the classiest magician in the world, ...

New material will be intermingled, not separated. Ace Assemblies, for example, will all still be in one place.
Don't know about the design yet. Too early for that.

Re: A New Edition of Greater Magic is Coming

Is Tarbell 7 a timeless book? No--it's quite clearly a product of the late 1960s/early 1970s.

Re: A New Edition of Greater Magic is Coming

Can you talk more about your large-scope vision for this? Are you channeling John Northern Hilliard to create a new Greater Magic for the 21st century? Greater Magic 2020, as it were? A giant tome collecting the very best of conjuring development of the past 80 years? (Plus reformatting Greater Mag...

A New Edition of Greater Magic is Coming

Yes, a new version of Greater Magic is coming and will take several years to complete. It will be two or (more likely) three volumes rather than one. The physical size of the volumes will be increased from 6 x 8 to 8.5 x 11. The original text will get a general upgrade in regards to missing details ...

Ditch the houlette. Put it upright in a glass, or put it in the cardcase (open) and lean that against a glass.

Re: Ambitious Card Ending

I'm slightly confused. Do you do most of the routine, then at the end suddenly introduce a different color backed deck and insert the chosen card into that and it rises to the top? I actually like the idea of doing the whole routine with an odd-backed card from another deck. It opens up the use of C...

My fear is this is all backfiring and these comments might be giving Richard ideas. I bought Deland. It was well worth the price for the quality of publication. For whatever it's worth in this conversation, my book on DeLand has yet to break even. And that's with a $150 retail price (smart business sense would have dictated a retail price of $200 at least).

In the case of The Magic Rainbow, it is a book that truly broadens all pathways into the construction and performance of magic. It's like an inexhaustible fountain that keeps giving. Few books reach that goal.

$150 is a lot of money for a magic book. Of course I did buy it but I am from a generation that reads books. I wonder how many copies of your average magic book is sold to the younger demographic, as I assume from what I observe that they don’t really read magic books. It seems expensive books are ...
