Who made John Ramsay's props such as those for the cylinder and coin?

Curious to know who made John Ramsay's props such as those for the Cylinder and Coins. Also, do the originals still exist and, if so, where can one see them?

Gary Kurtz's performance. Perhaps Jay Sankey's Mr. Clean Coins Across is relevant to just one tiny part of Kurtz's full frontal assault.

Re: Wanted: Theory and Practice of Magic Deception by Al Schneider

Perhaps this one at Amazon is an updated version -- it has lots more pages (588) than what you are looking for!

Perhaps I should ask in a separate thread, but I am curious to know how the book at amazon compares with this 732 page eBook at LLePub.

Re: Tommy Wonder on Tom Stone

As an aside: I found out about Tommy Wonder only after he had died (and so have never seen his live performances). However, I can watch videos of his routines again and again and again ... and continue to enjoy his ability. As one example: when I first came across him, one of the videos I saw was hi...

Re: Tommy Wonder on Tom Stone

Why do you want to read Tommy's "full statement"? My interest is in Tommy Wonder. At one extreme, I might find that Tommy Wonder did not say much more than the quote; at the other extreme, I might find an essay from Tommy Wonder on creativity in general, and, in particular, in magic, exam...

Re: Tommy Wonder on Tom Stone

Why was the question asked in the first place? Tommy Wonder is my favorite magician; I have read his books and he is valued by me. I purchased two of Tom Stone's products just because of that endorsement -- and found value in Tom Stone's teaching of misdirection in his Penguin Live lecture. The rea...

Tommy Wonder on Tom Stone

In ads for Tom Stone's products, I came across the following quote attributed to Tommy Wonder: "Tom is one of the most creative magicians here in Europe. His work is always stimulating and worthy of attention." -Tommy Wonder Question : When, where and in what context did Tommy Wonder say t...

What's happened to sandersfx.com?

Richard Sanders' website looks weird and has the note Hacked by a group of Asians. The last message at his facebook page is dated September 11, 2013 and says the site is up and running. Any idea what's happening?

Tommy Wonder on "failureffects": why no cautionary comments in DVD?

I'll start with some background information: In his Books of Wonder, Tommy Wonder writes extensively to caution his readers on the negative impact on the participants of effects which lead the participants to think that the magician has made a mistake such as revealing his secret move or having fail...

Re: Penn & Teller 'Fool Us'

Some years ago, Penn and Teller travelled around the world and produced a DVD of magic in various parts of the world. In it there's a scene of Teller being fooled by a street cups and balls magician (close-up, magician and Teller sitting on either side of a table) in Egypt or Turkey or thereabouts.

Re: Real Power or a Trick?

The original post has some implicit assumptions that need to be examined. For example, in Magic is not supposed to be a puzzle; it's supposed to be amazing. 1) "supposed to" by whom? why? 2) why is "being a puzzle" and "being amazing" considered contradictory states tha...

Re: Close-up case?

Although I have thought about solutions for carrying items, and experimented a bit with a few approaches, I do not have the experience needed to comment meaningfully on this matter. However, I did learn one relevant fact that is general (not specific to magic); I was surprised when I learned this fa...

Re: Tommy Wonder's "vest with special pockets"

Regarding "vests with special pockets", although I was curious about the camouflaging of a vest as a shirt, my primary interest was in understanding the " special pockets" -- I am assuming that Tommy Wonder is referring to a vest with more than the usual two pockets, and if my as...

Tommy Wonder's "vest with special pockets"

Quoting from page 195 of Volume II of the Books of Wonder: ...When carrying many items, placing the props against the body is often better [than stuffing pockets of the jacket or pants]. One way to do this is to wear a vest with special pockets to hold everything. Then the porps are held thightly ag...

In December 2001, Charlie Chang wrote:

I will also feature two effects in a forthcoming book that use the chop cup in a very different manner (no balls or final loads).

Have these effects been published, and if so, where?

Thanks,

Anthony Brahams' citation of Eugene Burger in Fred Kaps' Purse

Hello, Anthony Brahams, the editor of Fred Kaps' Purse, ends the booklet with a note implying that Eugene Burger helped popularize the purse frame (quote is attached below). I have reason to believe Eugene Burger has never performed with the purse frame and doesn't even own one. Question : So what i...

Henning Nelms' routine for the cups and balls

Hello, Henning Nelms has written the following about a routine for cups and balls: "I devised an original, highly entertaining, impromptu, cup-and-ball routine. As manipulative conjuring is far from my field, I asked Bill [William Adamson] to work out the required moves. After spending hours in...
