Re: Discuss Steve Forte's Book "Gambling Sleight of Hand" HERE
SF's book very specifically has nothing at all to do with magical gambling tricks. From "Chapter 9 - Pseudo Gambling Stunts": "'Pseudo gambling stunts' add another layer of deception by incorporating magic moves and subtleties, and they often look nothing like real hustler's moves or...

In Carney 2013 (the Touches on Classics episode 1:22 ), John Carney attributes the pop-up move to Bill Simon. I've not read that attribution before--has anyone else come across it? Interesting. I think I got the idea that the move was Vernon's from one of the Carney segments in 'Spirit of Magic', b...

This is a perfect example of why predominantly old white men post to this board.
Of course this comment will be deleted soon as well. Sigh.
I think I'll go post some honest book reviews and prepare to be banned.

If I had to guess, I'd bet that the biggest thing that keeps girls/women from participating is that when they do show up at magic functions, they get treated as girls/women (for example, hit on) rather than magicians.
