Re: The Aretalogy of Vanni Bossi
Given the cost of magic books these days, hard choices have to be made on how to spend one's hard-earned cash, were there other books released around the time of this book's release that might have competed for those dollars?

Trying to locate the name of a Randy Wakeman effect
I'm trying to locate the name of a packet trick that appeared on one of Randy Wakeman's tapes years ago, but I just can't remember the name of the trick or what tape it was on. As I recall, the effect borrowed pretty heavily from Sam Schwartz's effect backflip. The basic effect is, four cards turn f...

The story of a child pointing out that David Devant's hand was shaking always struck me as very sad, and the medical issues that cut short Karl Germain's career were quite tragic.

In 1995 the IBM held their convention in Salt Lake City. In the dealers someone was selling a rip-off Origami. I was working with Harry Allen at Daytona booth when this happened. The one I remember was Cub Scout Magic, which was in my elementary school library. It was published in 1960, and I saw it sometime around 1970. Interestingly, the only trick I remember from it (and it was more of a stunt), was how to pick up a empty coke bottle with a straw.

The only way forward is by confronting these problems directly. You would think, but apparently the board of directors at the Castle favored a different approach. They ignored it, downplayed it, swept it under the rug, and paid people off. The rot starts at the top, and if the Castle is to survive,...
