Mike Caveney's New Book

I just started shipping copies of Classic Correspondence III from Egyptian Hall Museum. This is the largest volume in the series because of all the additional photos and posters. I would like to hear what my faithful customers think of this latest effort. The price is $75 and you can read all about ...

WOW. After being dead and buried for about two years, this thread has suddenly come back to life. So just to bring you all up to date, I still have sets of books looking for a new home. If I ever want to feel extra good I always go back and read the reviews by Eric Mead in Genii, Jason England in MA...

New Chung Ling Soo book from Mike Caveney

At the last Los Angeles Conference on Magic History we had a fascinating talk about a recently discovered stash of original Chung Ling Soo posters. Because the posters were over-printed with another magician's name, my friend Dean Arnold set out to solve the mystery of who this mystery man was and h...

Re: What is Classic Correspondence

With regards to what Dustin and Ian wrote, I agree, I like the articles in book form as well. Magic Magazine has to fit these articles into a given amount of space so I sometimes limit the text and the number of photos. But when it comes time to layout the book, I answer to no one. I print the photo...

Re: What is Classic Correspondence

All posts are greatly appreciated. I like to think that this monthly column is a win - win for all parties concerned. MAGIC editor Stan Allen gets a historical article that a small (but very loyal) slice of his audience really enjoys. And I get to stretch the writing of a book out over 2 years. Of c...

C4 - Amazing new visual magic

Just saw Jonathan Levit's new color changing card case that he calls C4. If you really had a card case that could change color, I'm guessing this is what it would look like. Great effect. Check it out here: http://www.jonathanlevit.com/c4.html and I see you can save 20% for the next couple of weeks....

Great posts one and all. Those are good arguments both pro and con regarding performance-only DVDs. Answer to Donal.
It's impossible to know how many and how fast books will sell in Louisville. I will have copies at the MAGIC Magazine booth and if you find me before David Ben's lecture on Vernon (Tuesday night I believe) you will surely get one.
See you there.
