Re: Frank Garcia Books
Somebody ought to go through the books and make a list of every trick, and what was the original name of the trick, who created it, and where was it originally published. Then we wouldn't need those books.

There is no need to make an exception for PressureFan. You can use all of Giobbi's techniques to switch one half deck for another.

I teach English, and when I call on kids, I have a deck of cards with each kid's name on a card. I go through the deck until each kid is called on, and then shuffle and start again. So for a few minutes five times a day, I'm standing in front of 40 kids with a deck in my hand. Then I started practic...

One of the interesting features of this trick—the Bannon version, anyway—is that it seems like a prediction without requiring a prediction. The spectator mixes a bunch of cards, and at the end, there are four cards face up, and they're all aces. This factor might be lessened if the cards are all dif...

If I may, that is not what you need to know. You need to know whether this copying of your kindle books is a) hurting your sales, b) is having no effect, or c) is helping them. Based on everything I have seen, both inside and outside of magic, I think the answer is, most likely, either b or c. Not e...

Re: Question about how to ask for advice on here
I wonder what an audience would think you are doing. Would they think you were displaying the top card and dealing it to the table? I doubt that very much. I suspect they would be confused, and not know what you are doing. I suspect that would be true for that move no matter how many repetitions you...

printerstudio.com will print a complete custom deck of cards—you can upload images for both the face and back of every card—for about $20. Pretty good price for a single deck. The quality is not quite USPCC but it is close enough for most purposes, including sleight of hand. I've used them several t...

I've been working in this area for the last couple of years. Here's a very nice Red-Black shuffle based on the same techniques. Say we have Reds on top. Start by shuffling freely for about a third of the deck. On the next chop, the third of the deck in your left hand is kind of jammed into your righ...

This is not heresy. It's just common sense. This is heresy: Jazz Aces is a bad plot. I've seen it done at least 10 times, always by excellent performers, and it's always confusing. Halfway through there is a pile of three cards, where the aces are gathering, and two other face down aces on the table...

A sandwich effect quickly loses its effectiveness without a Pass to trap the selection. What would the plan be without a Pass? Cut and shuffle the deck so that the mates can trap the selection? Of course, you can do a great routine with a Mullica wallet, where the audience will not notice the wallet coming to the deck. But you can also do a great routine with a double-back card in your wallet or anything, remove it to the deck, and double-turnover to show it’s the signed selection. To me t...
