Re: Youtube LINKING Performances & Exposés
While I'm sure he didn't delve into the mechanisms involved (algortihms, etc) weren't similar concerns and the idea of trying to get Youtube onboard raised on this forum some time back by the inimitable Mark Lewis. I believe he was suggesting an appeal to the CEO or some other power at Youtube. I sh...

I'm a happy customer of Real Secrets, Psience and The Works. On the other hand I certainly understand and sympathi...

I'm sure I'm far from alone in having learned Bruce Elliot's Dr. Sack's routine from Classic Secrets of Magic. That was long ago and I'm sure I haven't done it in forty years or more. However, a few years back I had the pleasure of Bob Sheets showing me how it should be done, including a unique turn...

Re: Bob Farmer Gets BAOTY Award
I'm not sure but I think Bob's Tsunami had that kind of "picturesque" ad. I don't know if he used that style before but if I'm right Tsunami came out a year before Sienfeld started to air -- which would give Bob bragging rights on this. Bob, do I have this right?

Re: More on the Science of Magic
Gustav Kuhn is not just an emminent scientist (and a very good guy), but also a student of magic since his youth. He and his colleagues figure prominently in our (Reel Time Images') documenterary on science and magic. This project barely touches on the no doubt interesting question of how science, e...

I have been remiss in not posting something about Ariel’s latest publication. I was shamed into action by Quentin's thoughtful and thorough review. My excuse for not posting earlier isn't I believe not unreasonable however — I haven’t read it. Three years ago though he gave me a version of the Sub R...

Re: monte toss exposed
I think you are quite right Brad. In this particular case I really wasn't exposure that upset me, an issue that I think is overblown in any case. Rather I was irritated at the fact that the scene gained nothing from it. Had they done the same thing without exposing anything it would have remained an...

I agree with those that feel this exposure like exposure in general has no lasting or serious impact. This has been proven again and again. NASA was set up by a literal Nazi war criminal. I never let the truth get in the way of a good story. But seriously - Wernher von Braun was evil. In the book the unnamed narrator meets, and falls under the influence of Tyler Durden. Durden is his inspiration, mentor and co-conspirator. Soon after rejecting the violence of Durden's approach he is forced into realizing that they are the same person (or if you prefer Durden is his hallucination)...

Our (Reel Time Images) last documentary was on science and magic (released in Canada, US/International version is in the works). It focused on scientists using magic as a way of investigating cognition, consciousness and behaviour, not so much on the science of how magic works. That is, it looked mo...
