Re: What magical demonstrations have truly impressed you?

Watching Uri Geller work, IS a lesson in showmanship, presence, and charisma. I will never forget watching Uri Geller in a hotel ballroom, with a thousand people, half out of their seats, transfixed, while a key bends a quarter of an inch in his hand! Geller can move and take his audience, to wherev...

They did and will continue their online store. Among the factors they said contributing to the store's closing was online competition. So while they were using the web, perhaps to keep a profit margin, keeping a retail store location open, as well as an online store, was no longer viable. (speculati...

Easley's Magic/Costume store closes.

I just saw that Easley's magic/costume business, that was started in Phoenix, Arizona, announced they are closing their doors by the end of 2018. Started by magician Bert Easley 72 years ago, as a magic shop inside the downtown bus station, it expanded to its location on McDowell Road...just a few b...

Koran would not be the first mentalist who had a disdain for some magicians, as some magicians do for mentalists. Whether Koran had similar feelings for those who were successful professionals, might be another thing. But these anti-mentalist, anti-magician attitudes have been going on for generatio...

To say medicine hasn't cured anyone is ridiculous. Different types of cancers that were once death sentences for many, are now treated/removed every day. "The Magic Shop", (a very good story BTW) was credited for an episode on, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". But it had little resemblance to the H.G. Wells story.

It reminded you a little of The Twilight Zone episode with Billy Mumy, "It's a Good Life."

No, the movie does not deal with the fleas or the scale in the office, as the book does. In his Houdini bio, without mentioning "Nightmare Alley", he does tip the scale/flea mystery, saying it was a stunt, Ed Saint,(Beatrice Houdini's companion) used to do.
