Re: Institutes of a Coin Magic Fan

I know my word does not carry the weight of a Tom Dobrowolski or a review in Genii magazine. Jerimiah has discovered a coin sleight I think is ground-breaking, called "The Drop". He expands on the basic idea and has created some innovative material. If you're coin magic fan, you should con...

Brad, I can't imagine a world where high school students teach one another about Joyce. I'm certain your lecture was well-intentioned. I hope, looking back you know now how little we understood about anything at sixteen. Effing modernist authors . . . Flounting perfectly reasonable rules, designed t...

Re: Shin Lim cancels in Vegas

Brad, I watched some of Shin Lim's video clips. I don't understand how what he is doing is so very different than other magicians. I'm not a fan of some of the techniques he uses, at all. I don't see how what he does deserves a category all his own. The vignettes I watched were all brief, perhaps th...

Color Changing Knives

The Kopf/Buck set showed up at the house. They are the most realistic, non-magic prop looking set I own. Trouble is, the only routine I know needs the ability to discern knives, by touch. I ordered the Lovins set. I really like them. This routine I found in my notebooks from the 70s. I'm going to po...

The very first Chompy is being put on a Greyhound with some salami sammiches. He's being adopted by a good family in NYC.

He comes with directions for Stabbed!

I realize the method is pretty transparent. There's a reason Don Alan and Ron Bauer did this trick; it gets a great reaction. My choice of method makes for a quick demo at a magic shop counter.
