Rachel Colombini Death & Paul Gordon

Dear All, I know this is kind of old news but I've not had a chance to tell the "full" story since Rachel died a few years ago. Anyway... I'd heard that there had been obits/memoriams etc for Rachel about a year before she "officially" died and I knew it to be "fake news&quo...

Re Rachel: I originally posted that she'd died because that's what I was told by a "reliable" source. But, she DID turn up at Blackpool and there's a pic of me with her at The Winter Gardens. We chatted for hours because I've known her for 30 years and Aldo for longer. She's not well and h...

Re: Aldo Colombini Suffers Catastrophic Stroke

Funny memory of/with Aldo. I was lecturing at Tannen's Jubilee in the 90s on what Aldo told me was the Saturday. On the Friday, Aldo myself and others decided a crate of wine needed to be attended to. After much quaffing, Tony Spina said, "You do know you're on in 2 hours, don't you?" Aldo...

I was performing in the international close-up show at Buxton and Steve both introduced me and compered the show. He was brilliant, but it was sad to see him struggle. Later on, he compered the gala show and, Imho, he stole it! :) Lovely man. Rest in peace Steve. Xx Paul Gordon

Rest In Peace Steve Evans

Very sad day. Magician Steve Evans lost his battle with cancer today. I worked with him only a few months ago and he was the star of the show. Imho, he was the star of most shows he was in. He was a lovely guy and very VERY funny. Rest in peace old chap. Xx Paul Gordon

Not really magic, but GREAT news for horror fans. (RK take note)

At last! The House of The Long Shadows (1982) is on DVD in the UK. The "extras" are great, too. It's a great film with a heck of a twist! Brilliant film....and quite magical!

I can now throw my 30 year old video copy away! :)

Well, the funeral went well. Lovely service. Not many magicians attended; which surprised me. Martin's children (Sophie and James) led the tributes which moved all. Martin was an amazing man and very inspirational. An entrepreneur. A kind man. Much loved. At the wake, I said a few words and then rea...

Martin Breese

I first met Martin in London sometime in the 1970's. He frightened the life out of me because he was so direct and I was quite young. Some years passed and we then met again in the 90's when I had some publishing queries. This time I was older and not so frightened. We really hit it off. Since that ...

I last spoke to Martin last week and he seemed in good spirits. It makes it even sadder. I first met him in the 70's and stayed in good contact for over 30 years. I was honoured that he had me entertain at most of his private parties in the last ten years or so when he moved close to my home. My god...

The Mechanical Reverse was devised by a man with an IMMENSE hand. He could hold the deck deep enough that his fingers hung low enough to shield the action. The only other person I saw do the move very well, aside from Ken, was Larry Jennings who had equally enormous hands. Geoff Latta did the move ...

However wrong it may be - and it is - a friend of mine works for the BBC and says this: The reason the BBC is releasing fewer dvds is that they realise it takes just a few minutes to dub a recorded tv show to YouTube, edit it and then transfer it back to dvd. In other words, people can easily make c...
