Duh! How could I have forgotten HaLo Aces. It is an absolute favorite of mine. I actually use IT all the time.

Re: Favorite 4-ace production?

I am quite fond of Gary Ouellet's Three Second Wonder and 2 productions by Jean Pierre Vallarino. One being Iris Apparition and the other I can't remember the name right off the top of my head but it uses some false cuts he came up with years ago and is very easy to perform.

Re: Life, Death, and Other Card Tricks by Robert E. Neale

Jeff McBride has a piece he adapted from it. And you can see it on one of Eugenes tapes to boot. The Gifts of Life is the name of it if memory serves me. Also at one of the first Kostya Kimlat lectures back when he was Greyhounding over the US (he was in Pekin, Illinois at the time lecturing for the...

Re: One Card Link (Beme/Williams)

BTW - Try Harry Lorayne's "the best darn ever impromptu linking card effect" (it's on his the best of DVD's). It's impromtu and very strong. Jan And if you want to hand the cards out linked as the other methods discussed, Don England has a method written up in his book Paradox. I have man...

I agree we have become a product of our own stupidity. Not just in magic either!

Re: One Trick DVD Article by Richard Kaufman

To comment on what Tim Trono said. I think what he says above is a resonable assumption to make. IE: Magicians want the editing done for them and want THE BEST trick made available. I put his quote in since he is a producer and makes his opinion known why. Rather it is right or wrong. However that'...

Re: One Trick DVD Article by Richard Kaufman

Oh i would also Richard. I loved the routines that have been put out in the past for under $10 that came with the gaffs and printed instructions. I also do not need a dvd to learn a packet trick. I was just pointing out that $30 for a one trick dvd is wayyyyyy too high and find it funny that John is...

Re: One Trick DVD Article by Richard Kaufman

I have one of John Bannon's one trick dvd's (Royal Scam) and it just goes to show that you can indeed 1. produce a nice dvd 2. include all gaffs for said routine 3. also take the time to include a .pdf of the routine. All this for $15. Of course I don't know the profit margin on said dvd's. As far a...

Re: One-Trick DVDs

Please notice that all the revered Magcians of today ( Burton, Thompson, etc. ) learned from books, magazines and from mentors. And if I may add they also learned from "getting out there and DOING IT"! They did shows lots of show in front of people. The grind or doing shows is the "b...

Re: One-Trick DVDs

Please notice that all the revered Magcians of today ( Burton, Thompson, etc. ) learned from books, magazines and from mentors. It's sad to hear people say "I got my start in card magic with Michael Ammar's Easy to Master..." I don't see the problem with it. I have been interested in card...

I had Don make some gaffs from Paradox himself. His contact should be on his site:

Neil Lester does excellent work also. See the above post.

Re: Name of rubberband trick

I do stand corrected on my statement that I haven't seen Harry's write up - in a way. I do have his Stars of Magic vhs teaching tape (I know its on there) that I picked up and I have all of his vhs tapes of Best Teacher Ever he put out through L & L (can't remember which volume its on since they...

Re: Name of rubberband trick

If memory serves, Michael Ammar does explain the differences between Snap (he gives full credit to Harry for the Snap routine and shows what he claims is the original Snap routine)and the handling he does on his Classic Renditions video. If the explanations/demos are correct is something the parties...

One routine that it is widely used in is John Bannon's Royal Scam. I know it appears in Phil Goldstein's book Focus also.

If narrowing it down to 1, I would have to say Halo Aces. But there are oh so many I could name.

Thank you Danny. Earl Nelson put me on to his material a few years back and I couldn't be more appreciative of that fact. I have always been a big fan.

Martin Nash?

Anyone heard anything out of Martin Nash lately? Last I heard he was in an automobile accident sometime last year.
