Re: Opinions required.

Definitely include the young lady's description. It is a much truer snapshot of what an audience sees and - more importantly for this - feels, than I think the performer can provide. And, if I'm guessing at the overall storyline of your book, it's a marvelous summing up of all the previous parts. *j...

Reckon I'll make the second request, Mr Mark.

And I wonder if I should start a roster of requests for Roger in a green dress?

the Magic Touch - first issue

Posted over at a dismally depressing place, yet thought folks here might be interested, even Mark Lewis. So, repeating the post, in a redundant fashion, from the Department of Redundancy Department: The first issue of *the Magic Touch* arrived in my e-mail inbox last week, and it's more pleasing tha...

Re: The Magic Menu

It is amusing that Nathan, with such low standards as to use obscenities in his posts, whines that a magazine he hasn't read doesn't meet his standards. And he whines that everyone is picking on him, trying to "shut down" his "free opinion." Mind you, being an American, I'm of th...

Re: The Long and the Short of it.

Thank you, Mark. I am celebrating by working, which is a stupid idea and causes me to travel for more hours than I wanted. And I ordered *the Long and Short of It*, not your most wondrous book which you say is the Wonder Mouse book. I shall have to get that eventually, even if I never plan on doing ...

Re: The Lives of a Showman

Don't take the lack of response by specific individuals as a lack of interest in purchasing the book. "Purchasing the book?" PURCHASING the book? I plan to break into Mark's garage and steal a copy. It will give me an excuse to drive through Canada again, and wander over to that beautiful...

Mark, I love the clip - it does appear to be a different clip than the embedded video in your "Wit & Wisdom" book - it even inspires me to order the book tomorrow, because I know I'll hear it in your voice - but the darned site blocks my ability to download it so that I'll have it to t...

Yes, when I open my Encyclopedia of Role Models, Mark Lewis has his own separate entry. But mine is the 1966 edition, and I wonder if anything has changed in his biography since then.

Re: 13 Steps To Mentalism DVD by Richard Osterlind

Kelly, I suppose I wouldn't have said anything had I not felt your review was personal. The line "Is Richard so tired that he could not stand up for more than 2 minutes?" seemed to be an intended insult, since the effects were written as sit-down effects in the book. That, and I do know th...

Re: 13 Steps To Mentalism DVD by Richard Osterlind

Kelly, I'm not sure that more than six months of intense study, backwards and forward, of the book and of testing the various effects (and others not in the book) to determine what would illustrate the principles, would have provided more pizazz for you. The effects on the DVD, just as in the book, ...

Adieu, S.A.M.

After much soul-searching, I had to post the following to the little-known Executive Committee: It is with regret that I cannot renew my S.A.M. membership this year. With the multiple losses this year (of John & Richard as M-U-M editors, of SAMtalking), with the fear that further benefits and pr...

Matt, the concern isn't how many posts were made per day (There was a large number of lurkers who kept hitting the site.) but whether it is good or bad to take away an inexpensive benefit with no prior notice, nor any input from membership. If one benefit can be taken away without reason, so can any...

Re: CLOSURE OF SAMTALKING

The closing of SAMtalking probably wouldn't have caused quite the fuss if there had been any prior notice. Or if members had been petitioned for their opinions. As it is, I greatly fear that many S.A.M. members, feeling disenfranchised, will "vote with their feet" when it comes time to ren...

It seems tempers are a bit more focussed on this forum. At the green site, people seem to be angry that Steven didn't keep publishing Cogitations. Here, people are upset that they didn't get a chance to save the material before it vanished. This seems reasonable to me. I have the following files, wh...
