Re: Borders update
The worst thing to happen to Waldenbooks was being taken over by Boarders. They disappeared from the Columbia area 2-3 years ago so we now have Books-A-Million and Barns and Noble. After the take over I noticed that they began pushing the "other stuff". Visiting there became like, "Oh...

Re: Blackpool / FISM Controversy?
Sounds like people either did not read the rules, or read them and said, "Naaa, they would never do that". Having not been to Blackpool, perhaps some could tell me if this is a new aspect to the competitions at that gathering.

Re: Castle Review on Huffington Post
As reviews go, it was more than a little lacking. Actually, to call this piece a review is generous. It was little more than a few general mild insults.

Re: Masters of Illusion
I had to do a double-take when I read what mai-ling wrote, mainly because I fell asleep myself and she appears to be young enough to be my daughter. I think it's a format problem. The hit and out pacing was almost metronome-like. Perhaps giving performers longer segments rather than trying to see ho...

Re: THIS CHICK HAS RIPPED OFF CHRIS HART'S ENTIRE ACT!
Actually I have seen them yank videos for specious 3rd party complaints based on copyright issues (which often turn out to be a mask for political differences, but that is a subject for another forum)

Re: THIS CHICK HAS RIPPED OFF CHRIS HART'S ENTIRE ACT!
If memory serves, the late John Ritter dubbed the Dutch Magic Unlimited, "The Hanson's of magic". Now Hanson may have been silly and trite but they were at least original. "The Milli-Vanilli of magic" might have been more appropriate. It's bad enough when the local hack who never...

Re: CLOSURE OF SAMTALKING
Opei, to tell the truth, for me this stopped being about the closing of SAMTalking after a month had lapsed That act was only a symptom. What has followed has been weeks of nonresponses, possible misrepresentations (I say possible because it could be a case of people simply repeating what they heard...

Re: CLOSURE OF SAMTALKING
What amazes me is the opposition to even raising the question of, "why?". If you regard what those who are questioning the action as a waste of time, well it's our time to waste. Since those complaining are dues paying members of SAM they are well within their rights to question that actio...

Re: The Return of the MASKED MAGICIAN
My personal suggestion - don't watch. Don't discuss. It's not worth it to me. If someone asks me about him, I shrug. If someone insists on an opinion, I refer to him by him given name which is Leonard Monatono and let them know I think he's a nuisance and not worth my time. I will then start talkin...

Re: CLOSURE OF SAMTALKING
In all fairness I need to mention that I received an email from President Kalver. It was in response to the email I was informed had bounced. To all who received the message that your email was undeliverable, check and see if there is not a response. This does not explain why we were getting bounce ...

Re: CLOSURE OF SAMTALKING
Since joining SAM in May, I have found SAMtalking an enjoyable place to read and post when I feel I can add to a discussion. The closing of the forum is disconcerting in and of itself. What I am finding even more disturbing is the fact that an email address was provided ostensibly to receive comment...
