Re: New Karl Fulves Pubs

Did anyone else not receive their first issue? or am I the only one. I sent (what I thought) was a very nice note to Karl "I very kindly received a note from you in October 2014, saying that my check for your most recent periodical was cashed. I understand from the on-line forums that you have ...

Magic Castle Reservation

Hi All
I will be visiting LA on May 14th and was hoping to visit the Castle using either my IBM or SAM membership. But! they said that they were completely booked for dinner on that date. Does my Genii subscription also require dinner for entry? Any other suggestions? Thanks much.

Re: offline access on the iPad app

A related problem ? On my iPhone none of the network settings options appears unless I switch to airplane mode. The only thing that shows is "Number of editions to store". Is that as it should be?

Castle in July

I am planning a trip to LA in early July. Does anyone know if the Castle will be open July 5th or 6th? Any buyouts in sight? Thanks for any info.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the suggestion. If I just rotate the phone the app does reorient showing slightly more text from the same screen but still no buttons.

One more data point..I am a fairly new subscriber with an iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.3. Except for a brief period last evening, after login, the app goes straight to a white page that says "Hello Mark, you are curr..(rest cut off) Click on the button above to s..(rest cut off). The blue and orang...

Re: Final Issue of Fulves' Prolix

The note said that the project has been postponed longer than anticipated. Since the banks will not cash checks held longer than a year he decided to cash them now instead of asking everyone to write new checks. If anyone is uncomfortable with that arrangement they can ask for a refund.

I sent a check last November and it was just cashed last week. Might be a good sign.

Re: The Unreal Work Vol. 2 - Jason England and Paul Wilson

Earlier in this thread I had complained about download problems and the need for an DVD version. I have since realized that in the streaming window, next to the progress bar, there is an orange "HD". If you click on that it turns off HD and now I have no problems at all. This works equally...

Re: The Unreal Work Vol. 2 - Jason England and Paul Wilson

Bob thanks much for the tips..and Evan I already have vol 1 on DVD so including that (on streaming video) adds no additional value. I am sure the content is well worth $25. That's why I bought it in the first place. But if I can't view the content then it's value is far less. Understand? And yes, If...

Vernon wand spin

Can someone remind me when the Vernon wand spin was written and illustrated in Genii. I remember seeing it recently but cannot recall which issue. It may not have been a recent issue, I just remember seeing it recently!

I never had a problem with tude, but did have a problem with "toot". I could not stand to stay in that store longer than a few minutes because of the CD that was constantly playing. It seems to me the Chestnut St. crowd was becoming increasingly sophisticated and urbane in recent in years....

I was hoping that someone would suggest the
kind of membership that Dustin proposed. I would do
it in a second. I live in Baltimore but have the
opportunity to travel to Pasadena every so often.
I hope the board takes the suggestion seriously.

OK, back on topic:
Were the original columns published exactly as written by Vernon or was there much editing or rewriting by others?

I remember one column with a rather blunt assesment of Houdini. It made quite an impression on me in my teenage years.

Doesn't anyone use Linux here? If I had to use windows all day long I'd be whingeing too! And yes, I do use and run programs that I wrote in 1985.
