Re: No More Gaffed Cards from USPPC?

USPCC has printed one last run of the Boris Wild marked deck. No more.
They are allowing existing customer to have one one final print run of cards that
they feel might somehow weaken trademark protection. Jobbers are already out of
some mixed gaffed deck.

Re: BoM: Hiding the Elephant by Jim Steinmeyer

David, Can you expand on why you feel this book is so puerile? Were you already completely aware of how all those miracles were accomplished? Had you already heard every vignette he shared with us? Well, yes..... That was my point. Pretty much all the material in this book comes from: Art & Art...

Re: BoM: Hiding the Elephant by Jim Steinmeyer

David, You must have a dazzling knowledge of magical history if you find Steinmeyer's writings so elementary. I, for one, would like to know how you came to be so very knowledgeable. Since Steinmeyer had a significant number of vignettes and illusion descriptions that, within his writings, are uniq...

"Hiding the Elephant " is an fine book for layman and newcomers to magic history; however. For readers already familiar with Steinmeyer's writings it contains NOTHING new.

" Catching up with Milo and Roger " is a must have for anyone reading this thread. There are only 250 printed and I have #172. The story of how the collection survived and got published is a real Milo moment.

Re: The Mentalist on CBS Fall Lineup

In "Psych", Shawn Spencer (played by James Roday) is passing himself off as a genuine psychic. From my understanding of "The Mentalist", Simon Baker's character, Patrick Jane, is a former stage mentalist -- I don't believe he's making any claims that he is a genuine psychic, how...

Re: The late John Pomory called fabricator and lia

As I said above, Jeff Smith's answer to me on Magic Cafe linked to a page of the Soapy Smith website where the words fabreicater and liar (three times) were used to about John Pomeroy. This is the whole of my objection. The link now leads to another page, and I could find no mention of Mr. Pomeroy. ...

The late John Pomory called fabricator and liar.

A person hiding behind the name Siverking and a man with a new book about Soapy Smith have posted on the green site, at School for Scoundrals, and on the Soap Smith web site, calling the late magic historian john Pomeroy a liar and a fabrecater. "Silverking' wrote The Alexander stuff is utter c...

Ormand McGill's Psychic Magic was the first magic book(s) I ever bought, about 1956. The chapter on the presintation of the miracle shoud be tatooed on every mentalest and bizzare preformer. In the fifties we saw Blackstone Sr. and the Dr. Zome show every year. In my openion the McGill was by far th...

I met Chappy Brazil in Las Vegas. I saw him do walk around magic at Ceasars Magical Empire. I watched as he stole watches and did a very funny coin routine where he continually pulled coins from a woman's chest, gradually the coins became larger and he finally produced a 4.5" coin to thunderous...

I haven't seen the movie but just finished the book. I thought the book was very slow reading and the cons/scams described were not that interesting (except the ending). If the author was trying to be accurate in his descriptions of the cons, he lost me when he described a three card monte scene. Th...
