Re: The Rauschenberg Effect by John Hostler
Hi,
The switchout technique of 1 from five I have been informed was published by Roger Crothswaite in his book Arcardia and is known as the up jog switch.
I applied it to a mental discernement type effect yesterday and it plays so strong.

Hi Guys,
To anyone who has this ebook, who gets credit for the devilish one from 5 switch with the upjogged card at the end of the five card mental leap? It's a brilliant idea with alot of applications I am sure.

Sorry it wasn't so clear, Kent. I was suggesting your presentation was effective because the post I quoted referred to a six card version. Re:"I worked in a magic shop when those symbols were the rage. I think the preponderance of them, in that era, has soured me forever." I can't argue w...

Re: Card Magic: What is your favorite sandwich effect?
Good call Jon. Reinhard Mullers visible sandwich catch is a beauty that I use often. Convincing control works very nicely for the selection and control procedure in this. Fishers search and destroy is another extremely strong approach based on a Larry Jennings routine from Richards Almanac, a collec...

Hi Harry, It is not the same handling, you are correct. I saw Martin perform his handling with full credit to you on an old videonics video years ago when he was performing a whole series of sandwich stuff one after the other. I read somewhere-god knows where that the late Fred Braue had a sandwich ...

Re: What is your favorite trick by Harry Lorayne?
Hi Harry, Martin's method uses side steal to get rid of the x card. A very good idea indeed because in that way the Magi can work with cards face down and never sees the face of spectator's card. Still another approach to the "One-eyed Jack Sandwich" is Jon Racherbaumer's Eyed Jack Sandwi...

Hi Harry,
For the one eyed jack sandwich I use Martin Nash' handling using a slip cut from his jacks or better routine.

Hello, I saw Bill lecture 5 or 6 years ago and it was an education! He floored me with his magic-so direct and clean and his lack of ego was so refreshing. Hello there,
I can recall a whole room full of magicians being fried by John Carney doing his version at a lecture in London back in the nineties.
It was a lesson in misdirection and got a wonderful reaction.
It is in his book Carneycopia and called everywhere nowhere and on your face!

John

Hi Jorey, The ascanio spread can be a tad tricky with new slippery cards. Try and make sure you have a reasonably firm grip on the outer right and inner right corners of packet(assuming you are right handed) Also, when making the spread try and make the action a fluid one;almost like the cards are s...
