Re: Genii Forum is Back Online!

Richard,
I went into the profile tab and added an avatar. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the user name (screen name). I want to use my real name but during registration it said that name was being used. Any ideas how to make the change?

Re: Genii Forum is Back Online!

I had a lot of trouble re-registering. It wouldn't let me use my current email address so I used another. I got errors saying the email address had already been taken (obviously by me). How do you change your displayed name? It was not listed under profile, just the sign in name. Many bugs. I hope t...

Re: cardboard signatures

Well, all I' m using are blank-facers now. I'm finally able to sleep. Its a nice opportunity to use the Erdnase color-change to get the blank to appear from a regular card.

Thanx for the advices,

Re: Desperately Seeking Meaning

Hey all! I strongly believe that if you' ve been doing magic long enough (performing for real people in a real environment), some part of you WILL leak out in your magic, some message WILL be sent to the spectators. So those like Bob who enjoy performing magic just for what it is at first glance (tr...

Isnt Unshuffled a variation of a Michael Close effect? or is it the other way around? I believe Jim Swain also has a nice handling of this effect in "21st century card magic". This is the one where all the cards are in perfect order at the end with the exception of 2 selections, right? Is ...

Well, the original version is very deceptive so if you have the same thing happening with one hand only, I dont see why this couldnt also work.

in a flash problem

I' ve been using Sankey' s "In a flash" a lot. Great reaction, minimal handling. Dont we love Flash? But pretty much all the important cards are now a bit "burned" because everytime I do the effect, the top card gets burned by the paper and I then bury it to the bottom. But I do ...

Just that:

What are the best effects using the faro shuffle? There are some great faro quickies from Lorayne in a few of his books. Micheal Close also has some nice gems in his workers series.

Anyone?

Scott said; you cull the previously signed card to the bottom, or second to the bottom if you get a spectator who wants to grab at the bottom card, and in doing so you can ensure they do not pick that card you have culled. ------------ Yeah this would be the most simple way and I thought about that ...

Hey Werner, Here's what I think from having played a lot with the thing but actually performed it only once in front of a friend. I strongly believe in "framing" the magic; that is: leave the coin inside as it is. Dont ruin the moment by taking the coin out or prying the can open. Not that...

Re: So called Mexican Turnover??

Great effect on a jay Sankey tape from a few years ago; 12 face down cards (as in twelve hours of the day), you take one of the cards and ask the spec to tell you his favorite hour. You then do the turn-over of his thought-of card (hour) along with a wrist turn to turn both cards face-up. A great ha...

I agree with Rage1... Just practice... I can do 8 faros in 50 secs on a good day with a "perfect" deck. It's just one of those things. A knack needs to be acquired. Do it over and over again and it' ll come to you. In my experience, I' d say that once you get those 5 or 6 first cards inter...
