Re: The magician who went to work on a motor bike!

It has not gone unnoticed by me that hardly anyone talks about children's entertainment on this site which is rather odd since it is probably the area where more shows are performed by magicians than anywhere else. Still, I suppose this is because nobody on here knows much about it (except probably...

Stars of Magic, I think it was the Robbin's reprint, is a perfect example of why you should NOT print on non glossy paper. I gave up on it and bought an original printing.

I'd not seen that before so we have ordered a roll to have a play with. That said so far we've always found that textured black is actually a better black art surface than true matt black. I have a roll of this I've been playing around with. It's good but not perfect. If you want to see it in actio...

Re: Your Suggestions for the New Edition of Greater Magic

Eoin, there are already sections in the book on various types of gimmicked cards, but they are generally for wide type use. In other words, double-backed, double-faced, and so on--things you can use in many tricks. Do you have something specific in mind? I was thinking off the basics like splitting...

I have a scan of the book.
I think these links refer to the shuffle in question, it's in the section on the game of faro. Which may be where the confusion comes from.

The back design appears to be an anamorphic illusion, of sorts, if the design is viewed end on, a series of squiggles is the dominant design. Viewed side on, at an acute angle, and the dominant design seen is a series of parallel lines. (I'm doing this on an iPhone and the illusion is pretty clear) ...

I just thought I'd add to the post Jim Riser talks about the whetstones. The way I use the whetstone to round the corner of a stripper deck differs a little from Jim's.
