In any of the 4F's I've been to both Stephen Bargatze and Rick Merrill close the Saturday night show with a 15-20 minute slot. It has always been hilarious. Reminds me of the spoofs Karrell Fox used do at the Abbott's Get-Togethers.

I particularly miss the IBIS hotel which was always welcoming for magicians into the wee small hours after The Circle. This isn't the place to bring up politics, but The Circle was so lucky as everything from Euston station as far as The Circle was demolished.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I think The Book of John had two printings, 1978 and 1980. The second was published by Busby Inc. but the first printing may have been published by John himself. The first printing had a darker cover.

The description in More Inner Secrets caused all the problems. It is not how the Elmsley Count should be done in other tricks but it is how it should be done as Vernon did it in Twisting the Aces.

There's a lot more to Tom's tutorial than learning a false count and the lessons therein can be applied to many sleights. Ken Brooke used say that if the timing is right and the move not quite right it will fly better than the move right and the timing wrong. Obviously it's better if both are right.

I was in Glasgow on Thursday sessioning with Gordon Bruce and Eddie McColl and tried it on them. I had been reading the Chipper Lowell Genii the day before. It didn't work on Gordon and would have worked on Eddie except he did a second shuffle before I could stop him ;)
