Re: "World Magic Awards" - Fox-TV ???

I think if they were compressed for time they should have taken away a couple of the acts and extened the rest. The chopped up acts were not very representitive, imho, of what magic should be.

Re: Great Clip of the Coney Island Fakir (aka Al Flosso)

I enjoyed the act very much. The act was very pitchman oriented, it appeared to be an act that was to help sell products from his store. If I were to see this today I would probably go visit his store and tell him how much I enjoyed the effects then probably buy a svengali deck or an egg bag. I also...

Re: The Reformation

Another thought, I believe the Too Perfect Theory is only when performing for magicians. When performing for the general public, if someone has a thought in how a trick is done. They will believe they are right even after one may prove them wrong. Though the public will suspend their disbelief for t...

This is unrelated but, I think, kinda funny. Did anyone notice that this thread was started in 2001.

Re: Horrified and Appalled at Exposure

I don't think laymen really care too much, if they know and you present it well they will be impressed. If they don't know wave it front of them a couple times and have a chuckle.. :)

Re: Ricky jay

Martin Nash, Jamy ian Swiss, Bill Malone, Jon Racherbaumer, and Jerry Andrus, I think these would be the top 5 because they are all well known for there knowledge and handling of cards.

August issue

I would just like to say that the August issue is one of the best issues I have seen in a long time.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
