Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

This is what I believe happened. The woman volunteer did NOT say the six of spades. In fact you can't see her face in the video anyway when she says the card. However, if you look very carefully at Emily's lips you can see that SHE said the six of spades and the voice was different from the woman as...

Oh my God! Not only do I think I know how this TV version was done I actually used to do it myself! Or more accurately I used to do it with Paul Pacific! We just used to do it for a bit of a laugh! We did it very badly on a few occasions and everyone knew how it was done except I think on one occasi...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

ACAAN where it belongs ... as a fellow-fool at the magic circle table. It is a BORING card trick - more a puzzle - for spectators without any entertaining presentation. (Although that would be possible with a different context.) This was not true when David Berglas performed the trick. I am psychic...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

Perhaps it is my imagination but I have noticed the tricks that fool Penn and Teller tend to be the boring ones. The tricks that don't fool them seem to be the more entertaining ones! I suspect on occasions they say tricks fooled them when they actually didn't! Not that I have a cynical nature of co...

I do agree that any layman who reads this thread will not be any the wiser. After all even the participants on this thread aren't quite sure of their own theories. It is just the principle of the thing that bothers me. I never used to care about exposure but just lately I have become a bit of an ant...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

All this conjecture reminds me of something that Fitzkee once wrote. He said that performing for magicians is a useless exercise since even if you fool them you are completely wasting your time since they will talk among themselves and keep on dissecting possible methods and beating the entire thing...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us

I don't know how this is done and I don't particularly care. I find the verbosity dilutes the effect somewhat. Too much talk and too little action for my attention span. A nice puzzle mind you if you like that sort of thing.

For some reason muscle reading and hellstromism is quite common among Russian mentalists. Of course the most famous one of all was Wolf Messing if anyone wishes to look him up. I actually own his biography written by Tatiana Lungen.

Canada's Got Talent

If you live in Canada you will have the great privilege of seeing me perform on this show tonight. I believe there is another magician on too. City TV from 8pm to 9m is when the show is aired in Toronto. I am not sure about the times in other parts of Canada. If you live elsewhere I think you might ...

I rather liked Bart Harding mainly on the grounds that he purchased and raved about my svengali routine. We did have some correspondence
many years ago.
