My wife and I were also looking forward to it. She was excited about the supper club dinner and show and train trip there but life intervened and now we can’t go.

Great topic for some research I agree. I couldn't order a sandwich with my high school French now. The book "Marvellous Melies" (in English) by Paul Hammond would be a great starting point. It references Melies use of black art, the Pepper's Ghost technique and magic lanterns among others...

I've got a 1986 hardcover Quality Magic reprint by Exclusive Magical Publications and I haven't seen it anywhere else - in magic bookstores or auctions. Anyone have an idea of how many were printed?
