Re: Mr. Andrews is on the Cover of the September 2023 Issue of Genii

I am having repeated problems with this issue, using either the old genii app or the new html5 app, in which the issue will only open on my iPad to the TAOM ad on page 73. Anyone else?

Little Egypt Magic on hiatus

HERE COMES SUMMER — For the first time in over a quarter century, Little Egypt Magic is going on summer vacation. Its aging computer and its aging editor need a break. The most recent issue was March 3023 http://littleegyptmagic.com/magic.html with a look st the fabulous nine-volume [i]Nick Trost’s ...

Magic Inc. used to sell (maybe still does) Senator Crandall's Texas Millionaire trick. You borrow a dime to "invest" and fold
it inside printed cash bills of increasing then decreasing size until all that is left is "an aspirin for your headache."

In addition to his being an excellent performer, prolific creator, and intellectual resource, Max excelled at amusing us. I loved his Inquisition articles in Genii and his more recent Magic Castle perks: Storytime with Max Maven.

I will miss him greatly.

Some of the most original bits I have read are in the massive book The Mind and Magic of David Berglas. I would love to perform them some day. These are great. And in my Book of Ghosts is a sexy version -- we produced a nude female ghost, to the sounds of David Rose's "The Stripper" -- but...

I've never seen it in print. At one time I think Jon Racherbaumer was panning to write a book about Mike, but I don't know if he had that. And even if so, you really can't put that routine into print. The language was sort of beyond Jerry Sadowitz.

Great issue! Regarding the Story Decks article, I may have missed the references, but would otherwise add that there are some great versions by Tyler Wilson, Kent Gunn, and Mike Rogers. Mike's was particularly offensive, which was the point of the gag. And I loved the John Bannon trick. I have been ...

If El-Wyn was considered the original spook show performer, the doesn't support this statement in the Ed Wynn piece: "I hit on the idea of touring with my own spook show. Other people were making a lot of money with them, so why not me."
