It goes on to tell how Vernon is bailed out by Harlan England, an acquaintance who Vernon had meet a couple of weeks earlier. England gives Vernon $3000 which Vernon is reluctant to accept. Vernon spends $20, returns the rest, and then broke, hitchhikes back to New York. That would be one heck of a...

Re: Patina on a new set of RNT Paul Fox Cups
If they are copper, just using them, or letting them sit (unstacked) will eventually cause a patina, which is another word for oxidation, aka. "rust". It will take months or years though. I would not apply any chemicals in an effort to speed it up. If you do let them sit though, keep them ...

Well, the Roger Pierre book has always seemed to me to be a sort of amateur (authors) experiment. For one thing, it's hand written. I don't have a copy but I'd bet money that the printing in it is not a printed font, but (to be generous), calligraphy. As such it's oversize, which means the book woul...

I see the guy has lowered his price on his Andruzzi collection.
There's a fellow on eBay who's been trying to sell a collection of admittedly rare Bizarre Magic books by Tony Andruzzi for some years now. For $13,000. That's for the Scroll, the Negromicon, and Daemon's Diary. I corresponded with him, suggesting his price is a bit high, but he was confident. It ha...

This is true for all of the "arts." Most practitioners are not artists--that designation applies only to a select few. Using the example of Albert Goshman, given above, I can make a good argument that he was an artist (as a magician). Slydini was an artist. Rene Lavand was an artist. Juan...
