Re: The Vegas dream is crumbling ...

I fondly remember the days when I could perform twice nightly however I’ll perhaps leave those stories for another time...

Suffice to say that these days it’s more like once yearly, nearly.

David Blaine UK Tour

I see David Blaine will be visiting these shores with his Real or Magic Tour. He will be in Edinburgh on June 5th.

Would welcome thoughts on whether this is a show worth seeing.

I will need to try and take a trip out to Cocoa in October.

I think you’ll find GOAT to be a fairly popular acronym which signifies sporting greatness however agree perhaps not a term which was envisioned to apply to magicians, irrespective of their ‘greatness’.

This has the potential to be a great topic. So many factors to consider. Is a magic book all that different to any other book? All books cost money to produce. All books have an abitrary value based on what is contained between the covers - entertainment, information, education, great writing etc. T...

I never need films to be a slave to their original source. A book is not a movie, and vice versa.

I completely agree.

However:

Is this recent production any good? I enjoyed it.

Is the story told in the usual Christie style? No

I did spot the Cardini poster in the background although must have missed Ali Cook.

I did enjoy John Malkovich's portrayal of Poirot however I believe the story was very heavily adapted from the original which I understand upset many Agatha Christie devotees.
