Re: The March Issue of Genii is Now Live Online

Yep - that was it! I ordered a Baffle Box (the tip over box) from Colin at the Blackpool Convention and was drooling over the hand crafted magic set as he had one on display in a glass box. (It may actually have been yours Richard now that I think about it). Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Cheer...

Re: Books Scheduled for 2018?

Thanks Dominic (and Jon) This book looks like it is right up my street - I will look out for it at Blackpool next month. It is very difficult for most of us to gain access to the excellent material published in The Crimp - a great shame as its format very much appeals to my sensibilities - so it wil...

Many thanks erdnasephile - yes, I can achieve ‘the buckle’ via other means but am having difficulty with the Draun method.

I will keep at it though as it does appear to be be a very effective move.

Those in the UK of a certain vintage may recall that Robert Harbin had a series on TV teaching origami to 'the viewer'. I recall these episodes as being fairly short in duration, broadcast almost to 'fill the gap' between the main TV shows. Anyone else remember these? Andrew P.S. Quentin - I'm not a...

John Archer IS Henry VIII

Stumbled across a show on BBC1 tonight - Tim Vine Travels Through Time. Tim Vine, a UK comedian, is well known here for his one-liners and for the number of gags he can get through in a minute. Anyways, this show had him travelling back in time for some reason to the Tudor period, ably assisted by a...

I agree, the thread is almost as long as the Erdnase troll-fest - principally because those posting copy entire swathes of previous content before adding their next two cents worth.

About time both threads were retired for a period in my view.

Has this sort of tripe ever been considered acceptable?

Right or wrongly it probably has, however there is no place for this type of behaviour at any time.

Perhaps this is the topic that should be exercising the minds of the Ennobling Magic experts.

Ever been disappointed by that soggy burger that in no way resembles the succulent beef-fest portrayed in the picture?

Then travel to Japan where you will be guaranteed to receive a meal that looks exactly like the fake version displayed in the window.

It’s amazing.

Re: Storing Magic Periodicals

All a matter of preference I suppose.

As I have (as near as dammit) a complete file of Nat Geos - I kid you not - I’d hate to think what condition they would be in now (or where they would be) if I hadn’t had them all bound.

Re: Storing Magic Periodicals

The Nat Geo is perfect bound however the bookbinder does trim them and, for me, removes all full page ads before binding.

I appreciate that for, say, Genii one would probably want to keep the ads.

Can’t we just agree that Gallaway is/was Erdnase so that Chris can go away and concentrate on something important for a change, [edited].

S W Erdnase was either:
1. E S Andrews or
2. Someone who wished to remain anonymous and was successful in doing so.

Just sayin’

This Week's Big Magic News in The UK

Debbie McGee is through to Week 6 of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and was the highest scorer in this week's show.

Other than that it has been a pretty quiet week here on the magic front.
