Re: Derren Brown's Unbelievable - a review
Well i will be recommending …and have several friends going to Manchester tomorrow. Have just come back from London having seen Play that goes wrong, Harry Potter 1 and 2 and Les Mis. The show is still developing but will not be out of place in the west end despite no Derren . It breaks the mould an...

Re: Derren Brown's Unbelievable - a review
My family and i are back from watching the show in Manchester. All of those around me had a great time including me! I found the show to be entertaining and enjoyable. The music was fabulous. My experience were many of the audience were eager to take part including a young girl included in the think...
Re: ERDNASE
I backed the movie via kickstarter and it dropped in the post this week.
Had a first watch and enjoyed it. Very slick and production values very high.
Nothing new to followers of this thread but did make some characters come alive .

Re: The March Issue of Genii is Out and Jamy Swiss Returns
[Long post] It has been several months since Jamy Ian Swiss’s One Night in Brooklyn article was published in Genii (Feb-March 2021). The article alleges an elaborate conspiracy behind Walter Scott's famous 1930 demonstration. Its strategy is threefold: ⋅ Dispel the aura around Scott’s ot...

I ordered a signed edition and the Barnes and Noble edition and used a mail forwarding service from the US to UK if that helps anyone. (Marco and Andrew)

Re: Announcement regarding new Steve Forte book
And a copy is already on ebay . Yes!... I was astounded how fast a copy got on eBay and also quite saddened. Please don't be sad. Mike Henkel is a Genii Forum member and is a very reputable and honest dealer. He sells a lot of stuff that's hard to find. On the bright side: by putting the books on e...

Re: Announcement regarding new Steve Forte book
The value of this book to the “magic” world considering Steve Forte is a gambling sleight of hand expert cannot be overstated.
I hope he reprints... he deserves to... I’ve asked for my copy signed. This is a book that will be forever in my collection.
I cannot wait.

If you have a Genii sub, head over to the archives and read The Erdnase Letters (from the 80s and 90s).
TG was not a fan, let's put it that way
Thanks Ian will have a look.

Ian .....Am I right in thinking that Tony thought that real hustlers treat Erdnase methods as “myth.”

Really shocked to hear this. What an incredibly lovely human. The world is a lot poorer today. So sad. Rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers with his family.

I think for me - a backer- it’s sad to see how this is working out. It has put me off prepayment and crowdfunding projects in the future. I wish Dave all the best.

Re: Worthwhile Kickstarter Campaign for Great Chop Cup Set Done with Dice Cups and Dice
Can anyone help me understand an update Mr Forrest gave on the 4th October? “All parts of Cubism Maestro are with us apart from one. The final component is the close up mat. “ I empathise with Mr Forrest if things have not gone to plan but an update that implies all the manufactured components are “...

Re: Worthwhile Kickstarter Campaign for Great Chop Cup Set Done with Dice Cups and Dice
I backed the project in good faith and had my Credit card charged . Dave Forrest updated the page in February explaining that it was two weeks until he would get delivery of the close up mats which were NOT part of the original deal Then I noticed he wasn’t at Blackpool. My heart sunk. Without an up...

Re: Wanted - Richard Turner's Bee Playing Cards
Those are the ones I have. The first one is no longer available, I think. Yes I have those too. I know Penguin have the Elite cards now which are a little softer than the Turner deck but are also traditional cut? I think the Bee’s are certainly better for dealing seconds because of the white border...

Re: Wanted - Richard Turner's Bee Playing Cards
He mentioned he was down to the last few hundred thousand decks and that would be the last printing? He wasn’t selling Bee backs at all as Quentin says. I wonder if he is holding the Bees back as he uses them himself?
