After seeing Simon's performance, I'm wondering if we're seeing a new trend in magic, brought on by too much MTV: forget about blending one effect into the next with some type of continuity, just rat-a-tat the audience with one unrelated effect after the other. [I know, I know. That's not a trend; I, too, have seen shows like this all my life, but I'm still disappointed when I see another one...]
Personally, I wish magishes would control their scripts better, too. After a "freely selected" card was revealed by his goldfish, the first thing out of Simon's mouth was, "I was so sure that you'd pick the 4C, that..." - and subsequently invalidated everything you'd seen up to that point. Frustrating.
