At the I.B.M. Convention in San Diego Aaron Fisher had a proof of the cover of his upcoming an eagerly awaited book, The Paper Engine, along with a copy of the introduction by Johnny Thompson.
Aaron also demonstrated several items from the book. They were sensational. I can't wait to read the book and see if A Thief in the Night uses gimmicked cards. And of course, Aaron's Half Pass.
I also demonstrated a new trick using Aaron's "Undercover Change", but I only demonstrated it to Aaron and Ruben Padilla. Still, I've always thought, when it comes to audiences, quality counts more than quantity.
Aaron had a deal where you could pre-order the book in a package with his new video (which is available now) and save some money. Don't know if that's still available but maybe Aaron will tell you about it himself.

Pete,
Were any of the other big books of summer available, such as David Regal's or Darwin Ortiz's? While you guys were having fun, I was reading the new book Ahead of the Pack, by Jack Avis and Lewis Jones. Just killer material.

Neither the Regal nor Ortiz, NOR the new Jack Avis/Lewis Jones books were available at SAM in New York. I don't think the Regal or Ortiz books have shipped from the printer yet.

Steve,
I'm going to purchase "Ahead of the Pack" based on your recommendation.
For those of you who are interested, there's a listing of the book's contents availabe at:
http://www.ian-rowland.com/Gateways/Pass2AOTP.php
You'll need to answer a very simple question to gain access to the listing.

The Regal books shipped from the printer the last day of June, I received my copies last Tuesday... It's a shame no one had them for the conventions, but you can expect to start seeing them in shops in the next few days...

I also have the Regal books and they are on sale through tomorrow night (7/9). David emailed me to say he hoped I sell a million of them and that I have them at a great price.
As per Richards Permission: You can find the books on my site at:

Mark,
I think it would be easier if you simply put a link in your message to the exact page on your site that has the Regal books for sale.

Pardon my ignorance, but I need to know: is the Aaron Fischer book a Kaufman publication? Thanks.

It's published by Hermetic Press.
