Please, can anyone tell me who and in what year performed the t&r newspaper using a magnet?

Not sure if it predates Robert Baxt's, but the "no tear torn and restored newspaper" was the first I recall seeing on the market. Not sure who is credited with the concept in the instructions, but here is a clip of master demonstrator (and all around great fellow) Mark Mason performing it:

No Tear Newspaper

The video is copyrighted 2001, so that at least puts an upper bound on the date!

I just found out that the German magician Chess Litten described her method in using a magnet and a metal plate in the German MAGIE magazine in February 1991.
Was that method used earlier?

Why don't you write Robert Baxt and ask him?

He may have been performing this method of the T&R Newspaper for some years before he sold it. I don't know. Best to ask him.
