Costume Change Reference Sources

Postby Ray Eden » June 23rd, 2004, 9:07 am

And yet another question. . .this time, I would like to know what is/are the best source(s) of information regarding costume changes (books, videos, DVDs). How to make, how to use, etc. Basically, all of the 'ins and outs' of the genre.

Here is a direct link to a page on Hank Lee's site. There is a video on here that might have some good info...

I had noticed this video on his site, but I don't know anything about it. Have you seen the tape and know its calibre?

Monica Monros has a website that you can Google to find. All that I have spoken with on the various boards think that her book is far more useful than her video.

Thanks Jon, I checked into the book and it appears she sells both the book and the video as a set for $75.00. Maybe that's the best way to go.

Contact Betty Riley, Betty's Action Wear in Las Vegas (Do a google search). She builds the fastest costume change, and can tell you ANYTHING that you want to know about how to perform this. BUT, knowing how it is done and performing it, is two different things. It, like all illusions, takes practice, practice, practice!!!
Good luck -

In (I think) the early 1970's Arthur R Hambling (I think) had a series called PROTEAN WIZARDS in Abra magazine.
