There is an old classic trick. The effect is that three cards are shown such as Blue, Yellow and Red. Spectator is asked to point to a card (using the provided pen) and whichever card is selected the performer has previously predicted. Lots of variations using the traditional method but does anyone know the original trick and its origin?

The effect was marketed as Mind Control.

Bill Abbott has a version of the effect out on the market under the same name which is far superior in virtually every aspect, and is only a few bucks more (but comes with better props and a DVD...)

I highly recommend you check his out.

Thanks Ben - I will. Do you know who originated the trick?

Emerson/West certainly put out a version, although since it uses an age-old principal, I'm not sure you could nail down a true "originator." Perhaps looking for the company that "popularized" it may be less of a chore.

Thanks Fred. I'll send a note to Arthur Emerson - he may know.
