One one of the Vernon audio cassettes, he performs and explains Del Ray's Ace Finder. It is a very clever effect. However, the tape is taken from a lecture, and while Vernon explains the effect fully for those there, on the audio, the production of the ace on the bottom of the deck is not at all clear.
Does anyone know how Vernon handled this? Or Del Ray for that matter!

Fechter's Aces "is based on a similar routine" shown to Eddie by Del Ray but eliminating Faro shuffles, according to the books Fechter and Magician Nitely. Is this the Vernon/Del Ray routine you mention?

Further to my previous posts, if Fechter's Aces is similar then also see the Obie O'Brien dvds of this title.

What is the title of this cassette?

The title of the cassette is vintage Vernon.

and Anthony - you are absolutely right - the basic routine is in Magician Nitely. Thank you.

Maybe the Del Ray routine had faro shuffles in - but the one Vernon demonstrated didn't! nor did it have the vanishes of the aces in the Fechter routine - it focused on the discoveries.

Thank you!

Dom, who published the cassette? I am always looking for tips on the "discoveries"!

Thanks

L&L.
They put them out at the same time as the Vernon Chronicles if memory serves me right, and I haven't heard of them being marketed for years....high time for a CD release I reckon! They are good stuff - but Vernon doesn't offer anything on the discoveries that isn't in the Fechter book.
