[Programmes of Magicians] A plethora of programs (at least a small plethorafive to be exact) with some interesting particulars: two versions of J.F. Burrows PROGRAMMES OF MAGICIANS, the first published by Burrows in Birkenhead circa 1906 (a first edition?), it consists of 36 pages (plus ads) with several full page programme reproductions and is side stapled in wraps; the more familiar Burrows edition published by L. Davenports in the late 30s or early 40s (40pp., in wraps) with several pages and current day (then) magicians added since the first edition; the third item is Ellis Stanyons ORIGINAL EXPLANATORY PROGRAMMES (First Series) published by Stanyon in 1907 (20pp. + ads, 12mo in replacement wraps); the fourth item is Jack Hamiltons DESCRIPTIVE PROGRAM OF DANTES SIM SALA BIM published by Thayers in Hollywood in 1943 (10pp. in wraps); and finally Max Holdens PROGRAMMES OF FAMOUS MAGICIANS published by Holden in 1937 (47pp. + ads in wraps)the interesting aspect of this one being De Vegas bookplate and that he has signed the title page over Holdens name as the author (the meaning of which is for you to figure out). All four are in good shapethe early Burrows having some light penciled underling and the spine on the Holden edition has been reinforced. This interesting lot can be yours for $35.00
