Greetings fellow magis;
I just booked my first weekly restaurant gig
(other than unscheduled events at a country club over the
last 8 years). I know the timing is much different
working with servers and table turnover, and I was in the
restaurant business many years ago. I welcome any advice
on the best effects, for both family and adult patrons, and any other wisdom that can be thrown my way.
Many thanks
Restaurant magic

Re: Restaurant magic
Congratulations! I know there are a lot of books and DVDs about working restaurants, but my favorite is by far Steve Delas Work and Play DVD set. His advice on approaching tables and creating a routine is second to none.
With any residency gig it is important that the restaurant manager, or whoever hired you, is continually reminded that you are valuable to the business. The best way to do this is to come right out and ask the customers to tell the manager that they enjoyed your show. (Assuming they did)
Have Fun!
Steves DVDs are available at magiccave.co.uk
