A Magician's Manifesto

Postby Dustin Stinett » August 26th, 2011, 2:05 am

I saw this site posted on Eric Mead's Facebook site. I had to share it here. It's a "Manifesto" for magicians written by Helder Guimares and Derek DelGaudio (and edited by John Lovick). It is as close to perfect as I think might be possible. Read it. Learn from it. Apply it. Read it again. Start over. I know I need to.

Thank you gentlemen.

Thank you. I agree that it is a great document.

However, I just have to say (since I'm credited as editing it) that I was more of a consultant than an editor. I didn't get a chance to proof the final draft before it got posted and there are a couple typos. We will try to fix those soon.

Back to you.

Well, one thing made me happy - the last paragraph where all those "names" are listed as once being [censored] magicians? I'm not listed! Made my day - but little did the writer know!!

What's great about the "Stay Up Late" part? That seems to be very narrow view. Some artists do their most creative work in the morning.

I read that on F.B. last night. I like it. As for the "staying up late part" Granted some people aren't night owls. But It seem that this points out to take advantage of whatever time period that you are the most creative and utilize. It's not a blanket statement of "You must stay up late"

The fonts `n all seem sort of funky for a formal "manifesto". More like a Tee-shirt, really, and I'm sure that's on purpose. Hmmm, I wonder what name it spells if you slide the lines of text around?

I'm guessing, Andy Rooney?
