Marlo's Handing of Devano Deck in New Tops

Discuss your favorite close-up tricks and methods.

All: My understanding is that Marlo had a handling of the Devano deck published in the New Tops (it would have occurred after 1979).

Does anyone have a more specific publication reference please or has it been published elsewhere?

Many thanks in advance for your time!

I Asked Alexander and he said check out "Ribbon Rise" on page 32 of "New Tops" May 1983.

EFFECT: A selected card is cut into the center of the deck. The deck is ribbon spread, then raised up into a tent-like position. From the apex of the ribbon spread the selected card slowly rises.

Joe: That's not the Devano deck - no spreading for that. I used the Devano Rising Card Deck back in 1950 when I was doing table magic. But I have no idea of its history.

He uses the gimmick (thin model) from the deck though and it was the only reference I could find. :)

Thanks Joe - the handling Marlo references in that article has a photo follow up on page 40 of the February 1984 issue.
