I'm looking at a few ghost hunting apps in the app store and wondering if anyone can suggest any that aren't fake but actually work based on science or spiritual truth. I am interested in one called ghost seance has anyone heard of this one and does it work?

We are magicians who do tricks. There are no such things as ghosts, thus there can be no such thing as a ghost-hunting app that isn't fake. I think you're at the wrong forum.

How timely. Just bought this over the weekend and it really works.

Lol, but some people might enjoy it as part of an act. Well there are more advanced systems to generate a ghost, a shadow or even a moving chair.

Good grief, that silly app will never work. Detecting ghosts requires specialized equipment. Here's a link to a training video on what equipment to use and how to deal with a ghost once you find it:

I'm no shuteye, Darren, but the iPhone has a plethora of sensors, and Ghost Radar's developers say the app actually does tap into them. Seems as legit as anything else.

A plethora? It's got an accelerometer and a microphone. Essential in detecting ghosts. And upset flying things.

EDIT: even their website says
* Note: results from this application cannot be verified scientifically and therefore should be used for entertainment purposes.

The most important thing to remember when hunting ghosts is:

"When the light is green, the trap is clean."

Thank you, Dr. Stantz.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but this GhostFinder iPhone app might still be useful to anyone looking for a ghost hunting app. This is actually an electronic toy which simulates the functionality of a tool for identifying the presence of ghosts and displaying their images on screen.

Is there an app for adding drama to lowlight images in realtime?

Don't look directly into the trap.

One that I've used is "Ghost Hunter M2". It looks good and has a bunch of different sensors, lights, beeps, etc.

With advances in smartphone technology, it is possible to create an app that does the job of what were previously specialized, stand-alone electronic devices. This is probably the best ghost detector app available:

Of course, once you have detected a ghost, it's important to efficiently remove it so the occupants of the building do not continue to be disturbed. This app will assist you with that task:

The intersection of "spiritual truth" and science is discussed in both politics (see rhetoric) and religion - and can be measured indirectly in terms of money or in science as measured by compliance. AFAIK none of the aforementioned topics are "okay" here - so let's not play hot potato on this issue.

Anyone using an iPhone app for entertainment purposes... great let's go with that aspect of the item.
