I found Tom Stone's report (03/2011) thrilling. I read the article last night, and performed the effect this afternoon, in a cafe.
I even recorded the performance, told them afterward that the cards were blue all the time, and then showed them the clip. They still didn't seem to get it.
Pretty amazing.

I loved this. Great column and an awesome trick to support the principle. I am amazed it really fools people but it does! Performing this makes me giddy.

Have you guys looked at this column in the digital version of the March issue and watched the short film Tom created to demonstrate conditional blindness in relation to Stonehenge?

Yes, I had checked it out before I performed the effect. Later, when trying to explain the concept, I had to resort to the video to make my point, since I was unsuccessful in making myself understood otherwise. My friend was unable to spot any differences when watching the clip.
Wild stuff.
