NY Times memory article: 'Secrets of a Mind-Gamer'

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

For those of you looking for inspiration to perfect your Tamariz/Aronson/soon-to-be-released-Berglas :/ stack:

From today's NY Times Magazine:
Secrets of A Mind-Gamer.
How I trained my brain and became a world-class memory athlete'

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011 ... crets.html

Some great interactive features and a discussion of the process of improving one's memory.

From the article:
"On a table in front of me, lying face down between my hands, were two shuffled decks of playing cards. In a moment, the chief arbiter would click a stopwatch, and I would have five minutes to memorize the order of both decks."

"Joshua Foer is the author of Moonwalking With Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything, from which this article is adapted, to be published by Penguin Press next month."

Harry, according to the Amazon.com listing, 2% of those who view the Amazon page about this new book (which I don't believe is a "how to" book like yours, though I could be wrong) end up ordering your MEMORY BOOK. Look for a bump in your quarterly royalty check!
