I just ordered the new Al Baker compilation. It looks very exciting. Anyone else have one on order?

Hi Chris, Carl, and Matt

The printer has promised the Baker book for April 25. The proofs looked great. I'll be glad when it's ready, too!

Best wishes

Todd has my order. This is the first time I parted with my $$ for a pre-publication offering, but I am anticipating a great read.

Where can I find out more about this book; contents, price and where to order it from? Thanks in advance.

912 pages?! Even with perfect binding and indestructible paper, that puppy's going to have serious problems for the average magician:

1) shelf space (that's a honkin' BIG book!)
2) shelf strength (that's a honkin HEAVY book!)
3) readability (NOT a book for the train to and from the office - and your desk or table had better be STRONG!)
4) Personal injury (drop this critter and you are heading for the Emergency Room should it land on your foot!)
5) Carpentry (you will need to repair the floor if the dropped book misses your foot!)
7) Personal injury (be sure to set up a truss fund for your mail delivery person - they are heading for a rupture, for sure!)

Frankly, at that size, one has to wonder why the publisher didn't split it into two (still large at 456 pages each) volumes.

With tongue firmly in cheek (which makes speaking rather difficult),

Our apologies to mail carriers around the globe!
The Baker book seems to be manageable in our unscientific couch test (Lay on couch, prop book on abdomen, read).

We have all our books Smythe sewn rather than simple gluing, so the Baker book should withstand years of reading. We looked into a two-volume version, but found that it would unfortunately have raised the retail price significantly, plus we like having everything under a single cover for convenience.

Todd,

Not to put you on the spot, but I'm wondering if you have an updated schedule on when this great book might ship. Your website still says April (as of last night), and here it is May.

I want my Baker Book! I can only read David Regal's review so many times.

Oops. I'll update the website asap. The books are all printed, so you'll get your doorstop soon! Start working out.
Best wishes,
Todd

Todd,

Great news.

Although when I went to the website, all I saw was a spinning graphic with an email link (to site@themiraclefactory.com). This is just an FYI -- don't waste any time fixing the website if it will delay the shipping process :-).
