Movies of old performances?

Postby Hellion » August 28th, 2010, 7:25 am

Sorry to slightly duplicate an entry I made into another thread, but after talking about women in hypnosis I realise that the market and number of performers in mentalism/hypnosis has shrunk massively in the last 40 years. Where there were once tens of excellent acts doing the cabaret and club circuits here and in the US, now we're reduced to a comparative minumum. My question is, did anyone ever film or audio-record any of the old performers work? It seems a terrible shame that so much material has been lost. Are there any archives, particularly from the 40's, of these performers?

I'm pretty sure there is an episode of "The Lucy Show" with Pat the Hip Hypnotist, but that is from the 1960s.
