Boardwalk Empire on HBO

Postby Tom Klem » April 20th, 2010, 3:04 pm

Boardwalk Empire which is set in Atlantic City in the 1920s will have a small part featuring a major magician of that era. Although this not a documentary some of the historical details are amazing. They have recreated the full size Boardwalk by building a set in Queens here in NYC. They are using blue screen to add the water.

A Little more on Boardwalk Empire. The pilot episode was directed by Martin Scorsese. It was created by Terence Miller and is based on a novel by Nelson Johnson. It chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson played by Steve Buscemi, the undisputed ruler of Atlantic City in the 1920s, who was equal parts politician and gangster. The small several episode arch of a magician will be Theo Hardeen, younger brother of Houdini. Remember it is a small role in this beautiful series by HBO.
