Having read the book some time ago, I have searched without sucess for an explanation of "The Vanished Man" illusion in print. Does it exist? Richard never brought this up in his interview with Jeffrey Deaver. Or did I miss something? Thanks for the story and interview. I enjoyed the book a great deal and have put it in my magic library.

I can't recall if I asked the question or not. Deaver did say that he didn't make anything up, and that all the tricks described and magic terms used were real ones. But he did get a lot of his information by searching around on the internet, so who knows where he read the description of "The Vanished Man" illusion. Ditto for "The Burning Mirror" illusion also described in the book.
