Clarence Clemons thoughts on magic

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Near the end of his new book Big Man, Clarance Clemons (saxophonist for the E Street Band, the famed backup band for Bruce Springsteen) had this to say:

"I thought 'Magic' was a great title for the last album. Course I happen to love magic. I think people need to be amazed, and magic is one of the few things left that can do that. We've lost our capacity to wonder, and that's just sad. But when you watch somebody do sleight-of-hand - I'm talking about somebody good - you become a participant in the trick. The magician uses your instincts against you."
