Video of Gary Ouellet Performing "The Miracle of Life"

Postby David Acer » October 3rd, 2009, 1:23 pm

Courtesy of Guy Camirand and The Camirand Academy, here's a video clip of Gary Ouellet performing his and Gilles Couture's handling for Bob Farmer's extremely odd trick, "The Miracle of Life." You can find it in the September, 1992 issue of Genii magazine, or in Gary's first Fulminations book.

I believe it's also in Magic For Dummies. Bob: you stay classy.

If disembodied limbs bother you (and if they don't, why in the world don't they?), John Carney has published a methodologically-related effect in Carney Knowledge. (It also appears in his wonderful The Master Sessions DVD's).

It's also in The New York Magic Symposium Collection 3 (1984), under the title "Hands Off".

In 1995 a version of it appeared in John Riggs' book "The Man With $1.98 Hands". It was called 'Mr. Jimmy' and included cute, horrific, and intimate variations using tiny feet and other props.

Love it! First saw this performed by Carl "Brother Shadow" Herron at a gathering of the P.E.A. in the 1990's. Had no idea of it's origins.
