Do you know something new about the Nash trilogy? Hades announced reprints of them a few years ago, and I understand they got stalled on updating illustrations.

Here are a few more that I'm eagerly awaiting:

Act Two - Barrie Richardson (the sequel to his excellent Theatre Of The Mind )

The long awaited Tom Stone opus (somewhere in the Hermetic Press pipeline)

House of Mystery and Roy Benson By Starlight - both forthcoming from Todd Karr's Miracle Factory

The Fred Robinson magnum opus - coming from Martin Breese

And there are of course other books that are further afield...the long awaited book by Ted Karmilovitch on his creations in mentalism, the Bob Ostin book (being worked on with David Britland, I believe), the Edward Massey book that Rhett Bryson has been compiling, M.I.N.T., Volume 3 , and of course, the Jack Birnman book finally surfacing would be a cause for much celebration throughout the land.

And what about The Vernon Touch?

And anyone know how David Ben is getting on with the Vernon Biography?

In the upcoming releases department from Squash Publishing is a new edition of the Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks. I'm very excited about this project, as it will be a combination of all three classic volumes into one invaluable, must-have reference work. Expect an August release (fingers crossed!).

Best,

That sounds great, Gabe! There's some wonderful stuff buried in those volumes. Is this going to contain any new material, or is it just the material from the original three volumes? Either way, it sounds like a must-have.

And on the subject of encyclopedias, I forgot to mention above the forthcoming volume from Mr. Lovick, the long-awaited Switch , the possibly definitive work on the bill switch.

Continuing proof that books aren't dead....yet.

Apart from the new book The Vernon Touch, I've got my fingers crossed for reprints of:

Complete Works Of Derek Dingle
Secrets Of Brother John Hamman
Seance
Spirit Theater

And hopefully we'll see the rest of the Larry Jennings trilogy...

The galleys of Switch, an encyclopedic volume about the $100 bill switch, with contributions from over 70 magicians in 11 countries was printed today. It should be out in about 3 or 4 months.

I hope to finish Scripting Magic this summer have it out this fall. It should be the ultimate resource on scripting magic. So far I have how-to 8 essays (some of which have appeared in Genii), 5 interviews, and 37 scripts (so far) for classic tricks.

The (not-final) list of contributors includes:
Rafael Benatar
Eugene Burger
Michael Close
Paul Green
Paul Harris
Larry Jennings
John Lovick
David Regal
Max Maven
Gary Ouellet
Jim Steinmeyer
Jamy Ian Swiss
Teller

Right now I'm planning on publishing it myself, but that may change.

This is great news! I had a hand (years ago!) in editing this excellent book, but had despaired of ever seeing it in print.

Excellent, John!

The long-awaited Bob Ostin book mentioned above is due for release in the next five or six weeks. Check out this link: Bob Ostin - A Lifetime of Magical Inventions

I have had some input into this project and can honestly say that there really is a lifetime's worth of great magic in Bob's book!

This, I understand, will be the first of ten volumes Bob is writing on the subject.

The Notebooks of Jack Avis is a planned publication of The Cairn Press in Autumn 2005. From the quality and quantity of material available in 20+ notebooks I may produce more than one book--not all at the same time!
