Audition Advice

Postby Francesca Moffet » April 6th, 2009, 9:43 am

Would anyone be lovely enough to give me a few tips on giving a good audition?

I was contacted last week after sending a few photos to an English agency and they've secured me 4 auditions: 2 in London, 1 in Dublin and 1 in Belfast.

They are burlesque auditions although I am trying to learn some magic so that I can incorporate it into my performance. I'd like to do some themed magic with a story...possibly something a bit 'dark' to fit in with my character.

So, what should I do to control my nerves and give a good performance? I've never been on stage before and the thought absolutely terrifies me but I am not about to turn this opportunity down no matter how afraid I am.

Check out the books by Don Greene: 'Performance Success' (geared to musicians) and 'Fight Your Fear and Win' (general release).

You can find them at Amazon, Borders, etc. They are quite good.

Here's his site:

That looks great, thank you very much for the link.

Anything to avoid me overdosing on Rescue Remedy.
